Manufacturers Congratulate Gov Pritzker for choosing to pay off state’s Unemployment Deficit12/7/2022 SCHAUMBURG, IL – After Governor Pritzker announced the payoff of the $1.345 billion unemployment trust fund deficit, the Technology & Manufacturing Association’s (TMA) President Patrick Osborne released the following statement:

In March of this year, TMA released internal survey results that found 89% of TMA members wanted Pritzker to pay down the deficit so manufacturers and taxpayers wouldn’t be hit with significant tax increases.

SCHAUMBURG, IL – The Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) released their 2022 Legislative Scorecard which showed more than three quarters of Illinois lawmakers do not support pro-manufacturing legislation. As one of the leading industries in Illinois, manufacturers look to their elected officials to advocate for legislation that supports their efforts to drive the Illinois economy, but TMA’s Legislative Scorecard shows a decline in support from state leaders over the last three years. TMA’s Legislative Scorecard holds members of the Illinois General Assembly accountable and informs TMA members and the public about the pro- or anti-manufacturing votes cast by their elected officials ahead of the June 28th primary elections. SCHAUMBURG, IL – Dozens of candidates for state and federal offices completed the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) 2022 candidate questionnaire, which surveyed candidates on their positions related to pro-growth and pro-manufacturing issues.
As Illinois manufacturers endure cumbersome government regulations and a burdensome tax climate, TMA informs their members and Illinois voters of candidate positions ahead of the June 28th elections. Of those who completed TMA’s survey, 11 candidates for federal office and 12 candidates for state office were aligned with manufacturers on at least 80% of the issues discussed. SCHAUMBURG – The Technology & Manufacturing Association is announcing an exciting new partnership with Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, geared towards preparing future leaders in manufacturing.
The course consists of ten monthly sessions plus project work for which a dual-accredited certificate will be awarded along with an option of credits towards a college degree. “We are pleased that Judson University shares our vision as we set into motion our first Manufacturing Leadership Program,” said TMA President Patrick Osborne. “This opportunity is one for which we’ve seen the need and have worked toward for a while. January 26, 2022 OSHA announced it is preparing a General Duty violation to through the agency’s rule-making process. According to a February 14 report from the Association for Manufacturing Technology, technology orders from manufacturers broke $5.9 billion last year, the highest year on record.
