This event is one of our most significant and effective initiatives for career recruitment into precision metalworking, now in its 33rd year! This event honors excellence in precision machining skills among Illinois high school students. The Awards Night will feature a networking hour in which students, instructors, and family members can meet with sponsor companies to learn more about the manufacturing industry. Student projects will also be on display. We look forward to seeing you there!
For TMA Members
Judging Day:
We thank our volunteers in previous years, as we wouldn’t be able to make it all possible without them!
Every year in February/March, TMA will begin looking for members to volunteer to help judge the projects for that year. If you or one of your employees/coworkers would like to judge, please let us know at [email protected]
PMC judging this year will tentatively take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at TMA in Schaumburg from 8:30am – 12:30pm. We will have coffee in the morning and provide lunch.
We are expecting around 350 individual projects this year, if not more!
TMA will provide tools, but judges who are more comfortable using their own micrometers and/or calipers are welcome to bring their own. Coming soon are the prints of the parts that we need your help measuring.
Please note that students are not present during the Judging Day.

Company Sponsorships:
Every year TMA asks our members to sponsor this special event. There is usually a deadline to register for sponsorships. We typically offer three levels and some of these including being able to table the event. Prior to announcing the winners that night, we have the students walk the floor and talk to members tabling the event, as a career fair. Students receive a passport and must talk to 8 companies to earn a raffle ticket for the grand prize. Which is usually a load toolbox for them to begin their careers in mfg. on the right foot!
PMC 2024 sponsorships are now available!
