DOWNERS GROVE – The TMA Supplier Network hosted a relaxing event at TMA member Alter Brewing Company’s Taproom in Downers Grove September 23. It was a great time to meetup with fellow TMA members and learn more about the company’s founders and founding.

SCHAUMBURG – While annual Manufacturing Day company tours are still on hold due to lingering pandemic concerns, TMA launched the #AsktheMakers campaign to stir high school students’ interests in manufacturing careers. The goal is to give students a chance to ask questions of manufacturers and get those questions answers in a fun and concise way – via videos.

SCHAUMBURG – Picking up on its annual volunteer effort, members of TMA gathered September 21 at the non-profit group “Feed My Starving Children” – organized and promoted by TMA’s “Christians in Manufacturing” community.

Among the 40 TMA volunteers putting together nearly 20,000 meals for needy children worldwide was TMA’s new President Patrick Osborne, Executive Vice President Dennis LaComb, past TMA Board Chairman Tom Hacker and his wife Anne.

A survey from the Precision Metalforming Association indicates that many metalforming companies expect lead times to continue increasing in the months ahead. The survey, based on reporting from 114 manufacturing companies that are members of the PMA, reflects conditions as they were reported at the beginning of September.

SCHAUMBURG – Last week, President Biden directed businesses with 100 or more employees to mandate that their employees get vaccinated or be tested weekly for COVID-19. Implementation of the President’s directive will be through an “emergency temporary standard” (ETS) issued by the Department of Labor / OSHA.
