What is the Essential Skills Certificate Program (ESCP) and who is it designed for?

The Essential Skills Certificate Program is a series designed for early career employees. The core competency areas explored throughout the program will help employees develop foundational skills important in today's workplace-at any company.

Essential Skills Certificate Program participants will gain knowledge of basic business practices, increase the effectiveness of their professional communication skills, learn about Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and how understanding one's own EQ makes a difference at work. Additional topics explored are diversity and inclusion , workplace ethics, and foundational concepts in leadership, conflict management. 

Over the course of eight four-hour classes, the Essential Skills Certificate Program is designed to establish the building blocks all employees will rely on regardless of the role they fill-today or in the future-for your organization.

Who should attend?
Employees early in their career such as individuals new to a company or organization , recently out of school, or those seeking to advance foundational business skills, will gain much from the Essential Skills Certificate Program. The ESCP sets the foundation for success in the interpersonal skills essential for their careers.

Instructor Bio: 
Katie Golub is a Chatfield Human Resources consultant who specializes in educating and developing young minds and future leaders. Katie is a state certified educator and is passionate about inspiring others to love learning and growing. Her years within education have helped guide her development of planning, organizing and executing a variety of curriculum. Katie has worked with many Fortune 500 companies where she developed superb customer service, active listening capabilities and an amazing ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree from the University of Kansas as well as a Masters’ Degree in Education from DePaul University.

CANCELLATION POLICY:  All cancellations will be assessed a $25 Cancellation Fee. Companies will be charged IN FULL if cancellations are not received in writing, by email (education@tmaillinois.org) or faxed (847-825-0041) by noon 5 business days prior to the start date of the class or workshop. No refunds will be provided after this time. If you do not cancel and do not attend, you are still responsible for payment.
