Introduction to CNC Level 1

This course combines theory and hands-on training in set-up, operation, and programming of a CNC mill and CNC lathe. Emphasis is placed upon developing safe work habits to operate CNC machines. After successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate skills in programming, set-up, and operation, and manufacture small parts using a CNC lathe and mill. The course features a specialized curriculum with new part drawings.

Advanced G-Code Programming CNC Level 2

This 16-week course will build upon topics covered in the introductory class. Using both a CNC mill and CNC lathe, students will learn advanced G-code techniques in this project-based class. Students will select proper tooling, make fixtures, write, run and verify G-code programs, and inspect to print specifications. Students will also work through a series of operational problems created by the instructor. The course features a specialized curriculum with new part drawings.

Year 3: Advanced Tool & Die Making 
This is a third-year course for students choosing the tool and die path. Students will acquire knowledge involving the principles of cutting and forming sheet metal as applied in progressive dies, and in single operation stage tools. Other content includes the primary components of a die, press setup and operation, strip layout and material utilization, bend allowance, forming and pre-bending, and compound dies and more!

Year 3: Advanced Mold Making

This is a third-year course for students choosing the mold making path. Content includes a study of the mold cavity and core, runners, gates, fitting details, shutoffs, methods of construction, clearances, mold base technology and materials as well as locking devices. Instruction will also include overflows, venting, side cores, mold finishes and polishing techniques and more!

Carbon Steel Metallurgy and Heat Treating 

This course teaches the metallurgy of carbon steel and carbon steel heat treating. You will learn about carbon steel microstructures, their effects on steel properties, and the effects of carbon content and heat treating on steel microstructure. The heat treatments that will be discussed include annealing, normalizing, and through hardening (quench and temper, martempering, and austempering). You will also learn about the iron-carbon phase diagram, steel hardenability, and the effects of alloy composition on hardenability

Blueprint Reading
This 16-hour introductory program explains the importance of engineering drawings in manufacturing, and thoroughly describes how drawings are portrayed and information communicated. Those who should attend include all production, inspection, sales, purchasing, drafting, engineering, and quality personnel who are responsible for interpreting and/or manufacturing from engineering drawings.

Mold Design
This 20-week, 120 hour class will cover multiple types of molds, including stripper plate molds, unscrewing molds, quick change molds, and hot runner molds. Students will learn the basics of mold construction, covering the use and placement of bolts and dowels. Along with leader pins, return pins, support pillars, stop buttons, rail design, clamp slots, and parting-line locks. Explanations on how the mold interfaces with the molding press. Horizontal and vertical clamping is also covered and so much more!

Internal Auditing
This workshop focuses on establishing and integrating an effective internal auditing process and initiative, with a significant emphasis on understanding and utilizing practical auditing techniques. As part of this seminar, the new ISO 9001:2015 Standard will be reviewed and evaluated, in order to fully understand the impact of the requirements and how they will affect the internal audit process. Comprehensive GD&T
The main goal of this course is to bring all participants to an operations level of understanding of all GD&T concepts, applications, and inspection. The course will focus on actual industry drawings utilizing GD&T concepts.
